The Counselor's corner
GREETINGS COBRAS!
Words cannot express how honored I am to join your family here at CMA! Thank you for allowing me to serve you! Below are a few details about myself, but I do look forward to meeting each of you personally!
A "UNCC 49er" at heart, I completed my Bachelor's of Art degree in Psychology from the University of North Caroline at Charlotte. I continued my graduate and post-graduate studies at the University of Greensboro where I received both a Masters and Post Masters degree in Counseling Education. In September 2012, I began working towards my doctorate degree in Education Leadership at Oral Roberts University. Most recently I was invited by the Children's Defense Fund to participate in the Young Advocate Leadership Training in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Professionally, I have served in the local community by working as an elementary and high school guidance counselor, a conflict resolution counselor, a university instructor, and a program director. I most recently served as a Resource Specialist for the Gateway to College Program, a drop-out recovery program, at Durham Technical Community College.
My favorite pastime is spending time with my husband and our son; both of whom are named Cory. On the weekends you may catch me traveling, reading a good book, shopping, or swimming.
